Second test of outdoor augmented reality

After implementing some major source code improvements, here is the video of our second development test of outdoor augmented reality system.

Working principle:
Same technology and principles were used as in the first test with a couple of important code upgrades & optimizations. Because of low frame rate in the previous testing, we developed an API that enables/provides faster system response, which results in a better frame rate of 20-40 fps. The code was optimized by using multiple threads in runtime. Also, easier and more efficient access to raw sensor data access was implemented as a part of the new framework.

Technologies used: Piksi RTK Kit, Oculus Rift, Unity 3d (Visual Studio C#), Stereo camera rig
